Chubritsa -Traditional Bulgarian Table Spice Blend Review

This is a very interesting mix of herbs and spices.  Do not get me wrong I am definitely not saying I do not like it but it took some getting used to and once I did I loved it.  Now I actually crave it and it is so much healthier than adding a ton of salt to your food for flavor.  I love pumpkin and it is so good for me.  It is all natural spices that are handcrafted in California.

I like to use it in buttered pasta in a dish with chicken breast.  It gives a boost on flavor and helps the food to have a zing.

Chubritsa is the Bulgarian name for the herb Summer Savory (Satureja hortensis)? It is also one of the main ingredients that makes our wonderful salty spice mix.

If you never used Chubritsa mix before, try this first:

  1. Toast a slice of bread
  2. Spread with butter
  3. Sprinkle with Chubritsa mix

  • Enjoy with your favorite cup of coffee or tea!

The name “Chubritsa” comes from a Bulgarian translation of the word “Savory”. It is among the main ingredients that make this wonderful salty spice mix. Bulgarians also call it “Sharena Sol” (Colorful Salt). You can come to your own conclusions on how popular this mix is when you learn that there isn’t a single home in Bulgaria without Chubritsa mix. Besides the popularity it’s also very healthy for the digestive system.

  • Every Bulgarian loves to have Chubritsa mix with almost everything – homemade sandwiches, warm soups, boiled eggs – because it gives the food an incredible new flavor and aroma.
